My progress pictures were the first sign the Built With Science program was starting to work for me.
I mean, yeah, I was going up in strength, too, but comparing my pictures from two years ago to now, I may not have put on a lot of mass, but I definitely grew in different areas, and I’m very proud of it.
I didn’t track my weight in the beginning. But in the first month, when I was just taking progress pictures, I could already see from my face and my chest that my physique was changing.
And I think it was during the third month when my friends started asking me what I was doing.
I was around 30% body fat. Now I’m 15%-ish, somewhere around there. That said, I saw results way before I reached that body fat percentage. You know, I was taking weekly pictures, and I could see the clothes fitting better. I was also feeling better, and more confident. I’m also motivating other people around me. When they see my transformation, they’re just like, “OK, I wanna do what you’re doing. Come on, teach me, show me this stuff!” And it’s a huge boost of confidence. It’s amazing.
I was severely overweight, barely able to move, spending my days at home indulging in steak, fries, and sausage. My mental health suffered as much as my physical health—I felt trapped and powerless to change. Attempts at exercise only brought on debilitating migraines, leaving me hopeless. Then, I stumbled upon Jeremy's video on YouTube. After watching, I immediately purchased the Built With Science course and began the workouts. The program not only transformed my body but also boosted my confidence, making me more outgoing and sociable
In college, I hired a personal trainer to kickstart my gym routine. After graduation, I stuck with his plan for a few years, but as work and travel took over, my workouts became sporadic, yielding minimal results. Then COVID-19 hit, confining me to working from home during a move from Southern California to Seattle. Unknowingly, I gained weight, reaching 200 pounds before I noticed. Having followed Jeremy's science-based YouTube videos for years, I easily embraced the BWS program, which has since transformed me physically and mentally.
I would always make a New Year’s resolution at the end of Christmas. And I would be like, “OK, I’m gonna get back on track and start a health and fitness journey.” Then I’d do some research and find popular workout programs. But the thing with those was that I’d only last anywhere from, like, 2 weeks to maybe a month, maybe 2 months, max. And then I’d drop off. I either got bored or struggled with the diet. Nothing really stuck or clicked for me. Of course, I got really discouraged since I didn’t see any results. But all that changed with the Built With Science program.
Well, I run a crane for a living, so it’s pretty sedentary. I just sit down all day. As far as nutrition goes, I just ate junk food and drank soda, and I just got to a point where I hit 200 pounds on the scale. It was like that point of no return for me. It was like, I need to do something. Built With Science gave me the outline, and all I had to do was just follow the path.
During my upbringing, I was consistently the skinny, nerdy video game enthusiast. Although I had an interest in martial arts, such as Taekwondo and Juujitsu, I didn't engage in any other sports. Before discovering the Built With Science programs, my fitness journey involved random programs and celebrity workouts from Men’s Health and Muscle & Fitness, featuring intense routines designed for bodybuilders on anabolic steroids. Recognizing the impracticality for the average person, I chose to trust Built With Science and their method. Through dedication and consistency, I witnessed remarkable results
Prior to embarking on the Built With Science programs, my dedication to a fitness-oriented lifestyle was far from unwavering. I often found myself contemplating whether I could skip a day at the gym or questioning the reasons behind my efforts. With an initial weight of 182 pounds and a less-than-optimal commitment to my well-being, I recognized that a transformative journey was possible with the Built With Science programs.
When I started the Built With Science Intermediate Shred 2.0, I weighed in at 73 kilograms (160 pounds), grappling with persistent love handles and excess belly fat. Now, I stand at a lean 57 kilograms (125 pounds), often prompting amazed reactions at the disappearance of those love handles.
When I started I was around 190 pounds and I’m currently around 163 pounds. As the months went on using the Built With Science programs I'd take my picture and I'd be like, eh, you know, whatever, it's not gonna, not gonna be much improvement. Then I compare it to the month before, or I compare it to like, where I started and I was like, oh, okay, okay, this is working.
My name is Sean O’Brien and I’ve been clean and sober for almost 15 months now. For the majority of my adult life I struggled with alcohol and drug addiction. I was looking on YouTube for fitness recommendations and that’s where I found BWS. I watched a few videos and saw they had this program. From there I initially purchased the Beginner Shred program and upgraded to the Beginner Shred 2.0 afterwards.
One day I took a picture and then I kind of realized how overweight I was. I didn’t like the way I looked. I didn’t have a lot of energy for activities that I used to do. That’s when I was like alright I wanna get back into the gym. Before starting the Built With Science program I weighed around 220 pounds and I was about 30% body fat. Now I’ve lost about 50 pounds and my weight is close to 170 pounds.
